As I’ve mentioned before, Lady Petrova made the move into bridal wear earlier this year. The Melbourne designer closed down her Flinders Lane boutique where she stocked various labels as well as her own and set up a new home in the iconic Nicholas Building. This past July she released her first ever ready-to-wear bridal collection, “As You Wish”.
Created for “the modern bride who believes in fairy tales”, the line is inspired by everything from movies to historical figures in true Lady Petrova fashion. The name is a reference to the famous quote in the cult movie “Princess Bride”, and sets the tone for the entire collection. The gowns are mostly made of classic lace and tulle, but always with a signature Lady Petrova twist – some are dyed purple, others are reversible or feature some sort of cape. It’s the perfect pick for the romantic bride who is looking for something different for her special day. The gowns are all handmade, take at least two months to be produced and can be ordered in any size, with prices starting at AUD $1650.
If none of these suit your vision, Lady Petrova also takes custom orders. You can e-mail Petrova for an appointment at her Melbourne atelier or order her ready-to-wear dresses via her website or Etsy store. If you’re not getting married, however, there’s no harm in following Lady Petrova Bridal on Instagram for a little daydreaming every now and then.
Below you can check out her look book with prices and a little more about each dress. I’m in love with Estella and Florin. What’s your favourite?
